1. Current Issue - Newsletter #13 June 6, 2002
"Learning through our hearts ...
receiving, being and building caring in our lives"
\\\ CONTENTS ///
Greetings ...
Something new ...
This is our first Newsletter under our New web address http://www.caringeducation.net/
,
having evolved from ... . Our new name shows that
we recognize the
importance of teaching caring beyond, as well as in the classroom.
After all, beyond the
classroom is where our children come from and go to.
Our broader view is also seen in our new name for our newsletter
"Learning through
our hearts," having evolved from "Teaching from our hearts."
This shows the importance
we attach to teachers and all persons being lifelong practitioners
and learners of caring.
New sections we have added to our site show some of these newer
caring ways we are
emphasizing as well as ongoing areas that we are bringing more focus
to. Please refer to
the titles on the right side of our home page that are shown under
the column heading
"Newly Arrived." We are also working on a new home
page design . Going to the bottom
of our home page and clicking on the selection "Arriving
Soon," you may see this work
in progress. Your comments and suggestions are most welcome.
Ongoing ...
Below are the articles and news in our current sections.

Newsletter #12 August 22, 2001
"TEACHING FROM OUR HEARTS...
being and building caring for teachers and those we relate to"
\\\ CONTENTS ///
Greetings,
I hope you are having a good summer. I have had some wonderful
experiences volunteering, teaching and taking part in workshops.
I
look forward to sharing on this in our next issue. We welcome you
to share your summer experiences as well.
In our current issue we are bringing you something old, something
new and an update on some evolutionary changes we are
bringing to our site.
Republishing from prior issues
http://www.caringeducation.net/html/newsletter.html
We are including in this issue over a dozen articles that were in
the
first five issues of our newsletter which had not yet been put on
the
site. These articles are highlighted in bold in our table of contents..
Knowing self: discovery, enhancement and fulfillment
http://www.caringeducation.net/html/deeper-meanings.html#item12
Dr. Melody Lark who previously provided a three article series on
nurturing self and others has now written an article that combines
the
ideas of those prior articles along with some further expressions
that
provide beautiful insights and practices.
The force of caring
http://www.caringeducation.net/html/want.html#item5
I am providing the text of a talk I gave at the San Luis Obisbo
Unitarian
Fellowship this past July. I hope you also find useful the graphic
that
goes along with the writing.
Caringeducation.net
http://www.caringeducation.net/demo/
We are moving towards calling ourselves caringeducation.net. We
believe that this name represents more fully what we do. We hope
to be, along with other voices, a place where people can share,
learn
and enhance caring in education. A draft of our new homepage, in
progress, can be seen through the link shown above. Your comments
regarding our new direction are most welcome. This change should
be occurring within the next few months. I am thankful to Walter
Smith, our webmaster, who has been particularly helpful on this.
Kind regards,
Marty Kirschen, editor
